Red Sox minor-league pitching prospect Drake Britton was arrested early Saturday morning by Lee County police and charged with reckless driving, driving under the influence, and property damage. His Chevy Silverado was clocked going 111 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. The 23-year old tried to elude police and eventually went off the road and crashed into a fence. He was skipped in a scheduled appearance on Sunday and cut by the team on Monday. He started 16 games at AA Portland last year. Britton pitched 3 1/3 innings this Spring—posting an 8.10 ERA. He gave up five hits and three earned runs while walking four. Batters hit a robust .385 against the young lefty.
