Red Flags Starting To Fly On Ortiz's Readiness

The issue no one really wants to talk about—whether David Ortiz will be ready for Opening Day—has moved to the front burner. A scheduled Sunday "base running drill" was postponed until today due to "discomfort in his right Achilles’ tendon". You know, the same one he injured last July. Papi has yet to play in any of the Red Sox 10 Spring games, and is near the point where he will have to start playing if he is to make the Opening Day lineup. Said manager John Farrell, “These next three days, I think, are going to tell a lot where David’s at in his ability to remain loose inside of a given day.” Oh, boy!
