MLB Trade Rumors concludes that—while improved—
the Red Sox will only be "fringe contenders" in the AL East. Pointing to their numerous question marks in the rotation and on the field, MLBTR sees 2013 as—essentially—another "Bridge Year", with most of the team's prospects having been protected in the flurry of free-agent signings. So, basically, they feel the same way we do: a barely .500 bunch of also-rans. Again, we sincerely hope that we and the MLBTR people are dead wrong.
