'Truck Day' Is Tomorrow: 1,480 Miles To Glory

Sometime tomorrow, the large green moving van will roll out of Yawkey Way headed to jetBlue Park in Fort Myers. The 1,480-mile trek is a New England rite of passage. It's fitting that it comes two days after the steroid-pumped gladiators of the NFL have their final dance. Hey, at least in baseball, they make an attempt at controlling PEDs. A week from tomorrow (February 12th), pitchers and catchers report, and a few days later are full-squad workouts. The off-season—what Herman Melville might have described as "the November of our soul" is almost ended. Truck Day is the hardball equivalent of the first robin of spring. And, it's almost here.
