Thankfully, only one Red Sox player will be subjected to the injury machine that is the World Baseball Classic. Shane Victorino will hold down the only Boston roster spot in the WBC, which interrupts Spring Training and often leads to debilitating injuries. The USA Squad—outside of Giancarlo Stanton, Ryan Braun and David Wright—looks eminently beatable. The rotation, as far as we can tell, would be R.A. Dickey, Ryan Vogelsong, Derek Holland and Glen Perkins. Yikes.
