In addition to the already rampant speculation about the Red Sox bringing back Justin Masterson, new rumors are suggesting a broader deal that could also snare outfielder Shin-Soo Choo from the Tribe. Both of these players are tantalizing, but both have significant downsides. Masterson has been inconsistent with Cleleland—sometimes very good (usually against the Sox) and other times a marginal starter at best. Choo brings some pop and good defense, but he strikes out an awful lot (150 times in 2012)—despite boasting a .381 career OBP. The bottom line is that BenCher should not part with any of the team's premiere prospects in this transaction—either from our own organization (Bradley, Bogaerts) or those obtained in The Great Nick Punto Deal (De La Rosa, Webster).
