Pedro Beato was born on the exact day in 1986 that the Mets defeated the Red Sox in the Fall Classic that year (October 27th). Those of us with devious minds suspect that the Mets organization
knew this and insisted on sending Beato to Boston to add to the karmic impact. There was a time when the headline, "Mets Send Pedro To Boston"
might have been exciting. Not now.
