Japanese Players May Boycott 2013 WBC

Think of it this way: at least Dice-K won't trade another tournament MVP for MLB ineffectiveness. Maybe. According to reports, the Japanese baseball players union is set to boycott the 2013 World Baseball Classic. The two-time defending champions are upset with their share of tournament revenue. Of course, the same association of players made a similar threat in 2009 and ended up participating—and winning it all. Frankly, if this MLB-created charade collapses of its own weight it can only help baseball.
