Memo to all ex-Red Sox players:
WE GET THE POINT! ENOUGH, ALREADY! For the second consecutive game, former Carmine Hose tormented the Olde Towne Team and drove a stake through the club's heart. On Tuesday night, it was
Coco Crisp,
Brandon Moss and (Saints preserve us!)
Bartolo Colon. Crisp homered and drove in the game-winning run in the ninth on a sacrifice fly in
the 3-2 loss at Oakland. Moss roped a ninth-inning single off blown-saver and loser Alfredo Aceves (0-6, 4.32). Bartolo Colon rolled off the DL (and we
do mean rolled) and fired six innings giving up just one earned run. Once again, the Red Sox blew chance after chance to pad their lead to no avail. You can't make this stuff up. The walk-off debacle overshadowed a brilliant performance by Jon Lester, a two-RBI night for Salty and a 'duende' performance by Vicente Padilla stranding the bases loaded. Bottom line: another excruciating loss on this road trip and a squandered opportunity to pick up a full game on the Pinstriped Posers.
