Buchholz At Mass. General |
The still hospitalized Clay Buchholz has been diagnosed as having a condition called
esophagitis. As the Red Sox official statement points out, the malady is "an erosion of the esophagus and an associated gastrointestinal bleed". The right-hander is being treated at Mass. General and is expected to make a full recovery. This is obviously a very scary episode and has landed Buchholz on the 15-day DL. It looks like—for once—the Red Sox medical team has acted quickly and decisively.
