A's 'Rain Down' Sub-.500 On Red Sox

The Oakland A's scored the first five runs of the game, and it was Parker-bar-the-door after that. Twenty-three year old Jarrod Parker limited Boston's potent offense to just four hits (the Sox got just three more all night), en route to a 5-3 win at Fenway.

Felix Doubront was far less effective than usual, as he coughed up five in the fourth inning—leaving after that frame with 94 pitches. David Ortiz dropped his average below .400 with an 0-4 night. All in all, a rain out would have been preferable.
