Daniel Bard Reports Back Stiffness

Just about the last thing you'd want to hear about the Red Sox pitching staff surfaced on Sunday morning. Putative fourth starter Daniel Bard is complaining of "back stiffness" after his very first outing. The big wild card for the rotation is Bard's smooth transition from a 70-inning guy to a 170-180-inning guy—and health will likely play a big part in it. On top of this, Clay Buchholz and his un-operated upon back problem could flare at any point and decimate this rotation. Have a nice Sunday!
