The Red Sox designated hitter batted .411 during the month, with 8 home runs and 20 RBIs. His OPS was 1.330 with an on-base percentage of .494. He also slugged .836 and scored 16 runs. This is the second Player Of The Month honor for Big Papi this year, who also captured the award in May.
Ortiz has been named FenwayNation Player Of The Year four times (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006).
