July 24th seems like a long time ago—and it is. That's when Tim Wakefield collected his 199th career win. Tonight, in an offensive outburst by his teammates, he got #200 in an
18-6 rout of the Blue Jays. It was not a blowout until very late. Wake relinquished two leads and clung to a 6-5 lead when he left the game.
Wakefield's touching speech to the crowd after the game typified the career of perhaps the classiest athlete ever to don a Boston uniform. Congratulations, Wake!
