The Red Sox announced today that they've placed third-baseman
Rafael Devers on the
ten-day disabled list with left shoulder inflammation. It's unclear whether this is another case of the fake "Fenway Flu"—given the 21-year-old's recent performance—or an actual malady. Devers is hitting .143 over his last seven games—with just two hits. The Red Sox recalled infielder
Tzu-Wei Lin from AAA Pawtucket to take the place of Devers on the active roster. Presumably, Lin will play second base and
Eduardo Nunez will take over at third (with
Brock Holt mixed-in at both spots). Stay tuned.
