Red Sox manager
Alex Cora gave an update yesterday on the condition of
Dustin Pedroia—and it wasn't good news.
The Laser Show is still feeling pain and swelling in his reconstructed knee—and has yet to resume baseball activities. Pedroia missed the first two months of the season, then returned briefly at the end of May before heading back on the DL. Last October, he had cartilage restoration surgery on the knee. His continued extended absence puts even more emphasis on the need to trade for someone like
Jed Lowrie or
DJ LeMahieu to take over duties at second base.
