OK, this is getting a little troubling. While the Red Sox announced that
Mookie Betts would be traveling with them on their 10-game road trip, they did
not commit to a timetable for when the right-fielder will be back in the line-up. In fact,
he still might be sent on a rehab assignment before swinging a bat again for the Red Sox. Said Manager
Alex Cora,
"He had a great day. He’ll fly with us to Baltimore and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow. We’ll go from there." So far, the "left-side tightness" has sidelined Betts for 14 straight games—the longest injury-related absence of his career.
