The Red Sox off-season has been a good one for surgeons. So far,
Eduardo Rodriguez,
Hanley Ramirez and
now Dustin Pedroia have all gone under the knife since the team's early exit from the ALDS.
The Laser Show had successful surgery on his balky left knee (cartilage restoration) yesterday—an injury that limited him to 105 games in 2017. Of course, he still shone in the field
and led all team
regulars in batting average (.293). Pedroia will miss
at least the first two months of the 2018 season—all the more reason for the Sox to trade for someone like Minnesota 2B/SS
Brian Dozier.
