Boston's #3 rated prospect, 3B
Michael Chavis, will be sent to the Arizona Fall League—
along with six others in the Red Sox organization. The others are:
Henry Owens,
Brian Johnson,
Ty Buttery,
Bobby Poyner,
Chad De La Guerra and
Josh Tobias. Chavis had a
monster season at two levels in the Sox system this year. The 5'10", 190-pound Chavis hit .318, with 17 HRs and 55 RBIs in 59 games at Single-A Salem and .256, with 12 HRs and 33 RBIs in 62 games at AA Portland. The AFL is considered the "final proving ground" for prospects who are
very close to promotion to the big club.
