For a whole host of reasons, baseball has never really "caught on" in Florida. The Rays play in front of crowds more attuned to Single A baseball. And the Marlins—despite two World Series Championships in the last 20 years—can't draw flies to their overly-gaudy new stadium near South Beach. So, it should really come as no surprise that
the 88th MLB All-Star Extravaganza is not sold out yet—for the
Futures Game, the
Home Run Derby or the
All-Star Game itself.
Plenty of tickets are still available to the general public—at average prices
way below last year's
Midsummer Classic in San Diego. In fact, through on-like ticket brokers, you can get a ticket for Tuesday's game at almost $130
below face value. Gotta love Miami!
