Multiple reports indicate that Red Sox left-handed starter
Drew Pomeranz is on the trade radar of the Seattle Mariners. Also sparking interest in
StarbucksLand is Cincinnati righty
Anthony DeSclafani. Red Sox President of Baseball Operations
Dave Dombrowski is
supposedly more interested in dealing away
Clay Buchholz, but Pomeranz has generated far more interest so far. With regard to who might come back to Boston in a trade, most of Seattle's top prospects are outfielders or not that great.
One possible target could be Seth Smith (who made the final out of the 2007 World Series for the Rockies). He's a proven bat that could fill-in against righties at DH—
and play the outfield. Stay tuned!
