According to
ESPN.com's respected baseball writer Buster Olney,
the 2015 Red Sox line-up is the best in major league baseball. Referring to both its "firepower" and "depth", Olney says the cadre of
Carmine Hose hitters will be "formidable again"—as they were in 2013. The free agent signings of
Pablo Sandoval and
Hanley Ramirez are duly noted by Olney—but he also expects big things from youngsters like
Mookie Betts and
Rusney Castillo. He also cites the fact that—based on unusual depth—
"Boston has more and better lineup options than any other team in the majors." Let's hope the Vermont native is correct!
