It took a while, but the Cubs finally gave the Red Sox
something for LHP
Felix Doubront. According to
Boston.com's Nick Cafardo,
Boston will get shortstop Marco Hernandez—a 22-year old left-handed hitter (
although some scouting reports list him as a switch-hitter). The book on Hernandez is that he is a steady (but not spectacular) defender with a good bat. Hernandez hit .270 last year at High-A Dayton, with 55 RBIs and 22 stolen bases. He seems to have fallen back a bit over the last year in the Cubs prospect universe—but is still regarded by most scouts as a guy that can "stick" in The Show. Luckily, Hernandez no longer needs to be referred to as 'the player to be named later' (PTBNL).
