Marlins To Shut Down Upper Deck Some Nights

The bogus "sellout" streak is finally over, and attendance is clearly down at Fenway Park this year. But folks, it could be much worse. The Miami Marlins have announced the closing of the upper deck in their new state-of-the-art stadium on certain weeknights. Can you imagine the NOG closing the Monster Seats on Tuesday games against the Astros? Not bloody likely. Anyway, the pathetic Miami franchise is averaging only 18,864 fans this year—and that's using the same "distribution" ploy the Red Sox employed for a long time. And now we present the award for "Most Brazen Attempt To Put A Good PR Face On A Bad Situation" to Marlins flak P.J. Loyell. Loyell said the closure “will give an overall better fan experience.” Compared to what?
