Why Aren't Sox Dealing Catching To Improve?

Christian Vazquez
Realistically, the 2013 Red Sox have just two strengths—bullpen and catching depth. Teams like Texas are looking at their bullpen for potential trades—although injuries to Franklin Morales and Craig Breslow are putting a damper on that speculation. Their catching situation has Jarrod Saltalamacchia and David Ross on the big club—with emergency contributions from Mike Napoli. They also have Ryan Lavarnway right on the cusp of the majors and at least three talented prospects not far behind (Blake Swihart, Dan Butler and Christian Vazquez). So, when teams like the Angles are desperately seeking a trade for back-up catching, why aren't the Red Sox actively engaged? Earth to BenCher: improve this team!
