Lackey Shines Against Tough Team Puerto Rico

Matt Stone Photo
John Lackey threw three shutout innings last night against a Team Puerto Rico line-up that was far better than the one the Yankees threw out a few games ago. The big right-hander threw 31 of his 45 pitches for strikes, and felt no pain in his surgically repaired elbow. On the offensive side of the ball, Mike Napoli connected on his second HR of the Srping—a shot over the Fake Green Monster at jetBlue Park. The Red Sox won, 4-3. Jackie Bradley, Jr. continued his campaign to come north with the big club with another scorching double. The phenom is now hitting .471 for the Spring. Jon Lester starts in today's contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:35 PM.
