Sox Feel There's Fire Where There's 'Smoak'?

Fire Where There's Smoak?
According to reports, the Red Sox have actually looked into trading for a first baseman under the age of 30. Apparently, Boston has made inquiries about Seattle's 26-year old Justin Smoak. The Mariners need relief pitching and that's one thing the Red Sox have in abundance. Smoak has been a bit of a disappointment after being touted as the big chip in the trade that sent Cliff Lee to StarbuckCity. In three years, he's batted just .223—although he has stroked 47 home runs and knocked in 154. He's the kind of kid the Red Sox should take a gamble on—especially considering the alternatives.
