Dodgers Emulate Sox On Stadium Renovation

PHOTO: True Blue LA
Maybe the Dodgers are compensating for something. They have the biggest payroll in baseball (somewhere between $225 and $250 million), the biggest television contract ($6 billion with FOX Sports) and now they have to copy the Red Sox by renovating a tired, old stadium to the tune of $100 million. At least there aren't a lot of obstructed views at Chavez Ravine that they have to eliminate—unlike our 100-year old cramped little bandbox. Hopefully, the Dodgers will get rid of those ugly (and usually empty) yellow "premium" boxes that look more like a bench seat on a 1960s era Green Line trolley. Maybe that's where former owner and ex-Bostonian Frank McCourt got the idea.
